Healdsburg Tightens In-Home Storage Rules for Firearms

Healdsburg is the second city in Sonoma County to tighten its in-home gun storage rules. Starting July 20th, guns stored in homes must be locked in a container or disabled with a trigger lock. And, a stolen or lost gun must be reported to Healdsburg police within 48 hours. Petaluma already has similar rules in place, as do about 20 other cities in California. The Healdsburg City Council wanted to make guns more secure in the wake of the hundreds of mass shootings across the nation in recent years.
