Organizers are relaunching their efforts to get a childcare tax measure to the ballot in Sonoma County. The Our Kids Our Future campaign is now aiming for the November, 2024 general election. Last year’s effort to qualify for the ballot failed because of a batch of invalid signatures. The proposed measure would add a quarter-cent sales tax in Sonoma County. The revenue would fund future pay for childcare employees, expansion of the local childcare network, pediatric screening and treatment, and other early childhood services. Our Kids Our Future needs nearly 20-thousand valid signatures by December 11th to qualify for next year’s general election.
