A 5-year-old girl has drowned in the Eel River in Mendocino County. On Saturday night, a child was swept down the river around Etselt Ridge Road in Covelo. Local residents found the girl and contacted deputies. Upon their arrival, they started life saving measures in the ambulance. Unfortunately, the girl could not be revived and was pronounced dead. The sheriff’s office is investigating the case to figure out what exactly happened.
