A man was arrested in downtown Santa Rosa after being found with meth and a loaded handgun. On Monday morning, an officer noticed a man and a woman standing in front of a parked vehicle in the Santa Rosa Plaza parking garage. The officer knew the woman was on pretrial release for drug offenses and decided to search her. While speaking with them, the man bent over to pick something up and the officer noticed a handgun in his rear waistband. The officer removed the gun from the man, 49-year-old Jon George, and discovered it was unregistered and privately made. George was charged for the gun possession and for having meth in his pocket. The woman was released.
