Today, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors will discuss the progress of district formation projects meant to provide better service to rural communities. The projects have been exploring the possibility of annexation, forming new special tax districts, and more. For decades, communities on the outskirts of cities have struggled with the availability of things like trash collection and sewer services. In 2021 and 2022, the board gave more than 152-thousand-dollars to each of the five supervisor districts to study how to better provide municipal services to unincorporated areas.
