A man who drowned in a reservoir in Stanislaus County last weekend has been identified as a Santa Rosa resident. Fifty-three-year-old Carlos Lopez died while swimming with friends in the Woodward Reservoir on Sunday. The reservoir is about 14 miles northeast of Modesto and a few miles north of Oakdale. He was last seen struggling after swimming to a buoy about 50 yards offshore. Authorities believe Lopez got tired and slipped underwater. He was not wearing a life jacket.
