Dry Lightning Seen Overnight After Hot Weekend

The North Bay is seeing some of the extremes of summer weather this week. Temperatures reached highs in the 90s and triple digits on Saturday and Sunday. Then dry thunderstorms, also known as lightning storms, hit overnight. Lightning strikes near Healdsburg were reported at about 9:15 p.m. but there are no reports of damage. As far as the heat goes, a bit of a cooldown is expected as the week goes on. The highest temperature recorded during the weekend was near Lake Sonoma just west of Cloverdale, which reached 103 degrees on Saturday.
