Monte Rio Public Beach (Monte Rio Recreation and Park District)
A 22-year-old man is dead after drowning at Monte Rio Public Beach. The man drowned downstream from the Monte Rio Bridge on Sunday afternoon. Onlookers last saw him struggling to stay above water about 30 feet from shore. Authorities say the man’s body was found about 15 minutes into their search.
