A motorcyclist is dead after crashing into a van in Petaluma. On Friday evening, a motorcycle was driving northbound on Sonoma Mountain Parkway. As it approached Linnet Lane, a minivan was making a left-hand turn from Linnet Lane onto Sonoma Mountain Parkway, and that’s when the motorcycle crashed into the van. Emergency personnel arrived within minutes of the reports but the motorcyclist died at the scene. The investigation is ongoing and police say that alcohol was not a factor. The motorcyclist hasn’t been identified pending family notification.
