The city of Santa Rosa is suing 13 suspected organizers of huge vehicle sideshows. The series of sideshows, featuring cars doing illegal burnouts in local intersections, drew hundreds of people last July. The lawsuit claims the organizers created a public nuisance, and polluted waterways with tire debris that were left behind. That would be against regulations set by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. The city says each of the 13 people should pay a 25-thousand-dollar penalty for each violation of the Fish and Wildlife code. The financial penalties could amount to 650-thousand-dollars.
