As students soon settle back into the classroom for a new school year, the California Department of Public Health is reminding families to get the required and recommended vaccines. The law requires students to be vaccinated to be enrolled in school. There’s no exemption from the vaccination requirements for private or public schools or daycare centers in California. It’s important to note that under the Affordable Care Act, most health plans are required to administer vaccines without charging you. If you don’t have insurance, you may qualify for the Vaccines for Children program.
