Public comments on a controversial proposed hydropower project will only be accepted for another two weeks. An Alabama-based company wants to build the so-called Fort Ross Pumped Storage Project on a stretch of scenic coastline. It would involve Fort Ross State Historic Park, the waters of the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary, and important fisheries in the area. The proposal has already been met with major pushback locally. A meeting about the planned project will be held in Jenner on Thursday night.
