A man who shot at a couple who was walking along a path next to Santa Rosa Creek has been sentenced to nine years in prison. Twenty-nine-year-old Vincent Cervantes pleaded no contest to second-degree attempted murder and other charges about a month ago. The shooting happened in northwest Santa Rosa this past November. Cervantes ran away, but was arrested a few hours later at an apartment about a mile from the shooting scene. Police say he knew the victims.
