Sonoma County Supervisors will be reviewing a housing update at next Tuesday’s board meeting. The Housing Element update includes policies and programs to encourage an adequate supply of housing for residents of all income levels and to further fair housing. If approved, it will, among other things, expand opportunities for funding affordable housing, enhance protections for residents against displacement, and increase housing choices and affordability in moderate and high opportunity areas. The Housing Element will also rezone some sites to allow for more housing density. The supervisors will also consider whether to certify an environmental impact report examining the potential impacts of sites proposed for additional housing.
