Today, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors is expected to vote on finalizing a housing blueprint, called the housing element. The vote will come months after a state deadline passed. The blueprint will detail where and how to develop more than 38-hundred affordable housing units outside of city limits during the next eight years. After approval, the housing element will still need to be reviewed by the State Department of Housing and Community Development before final adoption. Sonoma County would then become eligible for state funding for affordable housing projects.
