The Petaluma Fire Department is lending nine of its firefighters to help with storm and wildfire-related response efforts in California, and wildfire-related recovery efforts on Maui. Assistant Chief Chad Costa is joining a Cal Fire incident management team in Lahaina, Hawaii. Three firefighters are heading to the Shasta-Trinity National Forest to help fight the Deep Fire. One firefighter will join a swift water rescue team in Kern County. Finally, four more Petaluma firefighters have been deployed to the Smith River Complex Fire in the Six Rivers National Forest in Del Norte County.
