The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors has finally approved a new housing plan, which was due on January 31st. The blueprint, called a housing element, details where and how to develop more than 38-hundred affordable housing units outside of city limits during the next decade. The housing element now heads to the State Department of Housing and Community Development for a review before it’s adopted. The plan passed on Tuesday with a few alterations. They include changing some land parcels in Forestville, Graton and Penngrove, and directing staff to explore a tax program for vacant properties.
