Should Rohnert Park Murder Suspect Be Tried as an Adult or a Minor?

A now 23-year-old man accused of stabbing an 18-year-old man to death in Rohnert Park could be tried as a minor. Today, attorneys will argue about whether Daniel Carillo should be tried as a minor because of a new state law that prioritizes rehabilitation over prison time for minors. The suspect was 16-years-old at the time of the murder in 2016 but was charged as an adult. The suspect and victim were classmates at Rancho Cotate High School. The victim was found buried on Sonoma State University property.
