California is in the top ten for happiness. WalletHub has ranked the happiest states in the country looking at 30 key metrics, ranging from the depression rate and the share of adults feeling productive to income growth and the unemployment rate. California came in 7th overall ranking high in emotional and physical well being as well as community and environment. However, California was closer towards the bottom when it came to the work environment, getting 34th overall there. Utah was ranked the happiest state in the country while West Virginia came in last.
