Authorities are investigating the deaths of two men who died while in the custody of the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. The men died earlier this week in what investigators call unrelated incidents. On Monday, a 33-year-old man from Occidental was found unresponsive inside his jail cell after an apparent suicide attempt. On Tuesday, a 58-year-old man from Santa Rosa died in a hospital in San Mateo County. He had been hospitalized since September 6th due to complications from a pre-existing condition.
