Petaluma High School received a visit from a recently returned local astronaut. Nicole Mann visited the high school yesterday, first meeting a small group of students in the library then a stop at the metal shop. The day ended with a speech before a large group of students on the football field. Mann talked about her time in space as well as the collaboration of humans from around the world. Petaluma Mayor Kevin McDonnell and Vice Mayor Janice Cader Thompson were also there to declare September 19th “Nicole Mann Day.” Mann, who is from Petaluma, recently returned from space this past January after spending over 150 days orbiting the Earth.
