A 36-acre prescribed burn is scheduled for tomorrow at Salt Point State Park. Cal Fire and State parks are conducting the burn starting at 8 AM tomorrow morning at the park along the Sonoma Coast. Minimal smoke may be visible for the next couple of days. Sections of a few trails near the burn area, including Prairie Trail below Plantation Trail, as well as Central Trail east of the intersection with North Trail and South Trail may be temporarily closed the day of the burn. These burns are part of the prescribed fire program for vegetation management, hazardous fuel load reduction, wildlife habitat improvement and other ecological benefits.
