A Santa Rosa resident accused of killing an 18-year-old man in a hit and run collision has pleaded not guilty. Alyssa Whitten will next have a preliminary hearing on November 9th, where a judge will determine if there’s enough evidence for her to go to trial. The young man was killed one month ago today, while walking along River Road in Forestville with two friends. The 35-year-old Whitten allegedly stopped for a short time after the crash, then drove off. She is also accused of intentionally setting the SUV she was driving on fire in an area west of Santa Rosa. Prosecutors say she was trying to destroy evidence.
