Kaiser Permanente employees could begin a three-day strike this week. Seventy-five-thousand unionized healthcare workers could hit the picket lines as soon as Wednesday. The strike would affect Kaiser facilities in Santa Rosa and Petaluma. Impacted employees are working without a contract, which recently expired. SEIU-United Healthcare Workers West, which is one of the unions representing affected Kaiser employees in California, said on September 14th that 98-percent of its members voted to authorize a strike if negotiations broke down.
