How much access do federal authorities have to Sonoma County Inmate information? The Board of Supervisors will be holding a public forum next Tuesday to learn about the access to inmates and the information that the Sheriff’s Office provides to federal immigration authorities. Anyone who wishes to comment must attend in person. Otherwise, you may watch the forum virtually. This forum is required to be held under the TRUTH Act, a state law that went into effect in 2017. While this forum will explore possible data sharing with ICE, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office does not conduct immigration enforcement itself.
