Deal Reached Between Kaiser Permanente and Unions After Three-Day Strike Last Week

Kaiser Permanente and its union workers have agreed on a tentative deal after the largest health care strike in American history. Last week’s strike lasted only three days, but the unions were threatening an eight day strike that would have taken place next month if a deal wasn’t reached by Halloween. Details of the agreement are not currently known, but workers had been asking for better pay and improved staffing levels at Kaiser facilities and hospitals. Rank and file union members will get to vote on the tentative new deal and could still vote no to initiate another strike.
