A Calistoga man died after crashing into a power pole and tree in Napa County. The 37-year-old man was driving south on State Route 29 early Sunday morning when he lost control of his car. He went off the west side of the road, north of Ehlers Lane and crashed. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died from his injuries. The accident split a PG&E power pole which caused nearly 50 customers to lose power. The road was partially closed for a couple of hours as crews worked to fix the power pole and clear the crash site. CHP are still investigating but believe drugs or alcohol were involved. The driver hasn’t been identified pending family notification.
