Governor Newsom was busy Friday, signing 890 bills into law, and vetoing 156, slightly less than last year. Eighty-three percent of bills signed into law were authored by Democrats. Some bills passed include making college cheaper for Mexican students, legalizing lowrider cruising, prohibiting watering “nonfunctional turf” using potable water on commercial property, and setting a 25-dollar an hour minimum wage for hundreds of thousands of healthcare workers.
