Testimony in the trial of animal activist Wayne Hsiung is expected to continue in Santa Rosa today. Hsiung was charged with misdemeanor trespassing and felony conspiracy after protests at poultry farms near Petaluma in 2018 and 2019. He is representing himself in court. Last week, the 42-year-old told the jury chickens were suffering, and presented a photo of one with an eye injury. He argues the chicken’s condition represented the conditions of others at one farm and justified the protests. The prosecution rested its case last Wednesday.
