State standardized test scores in Sonoma County are slightly higher than last year. But, they are still below the state average, and far below pre-pandemic levels. The majority of students did not meet state standards in math and English language arts this year. Other data from the California Department of Education shows chronic absenteeism in Sonoma County is down by about five percentage points from last year. But, more than 26-percent of students are still out of class on a regular basis.
