Mustang crash on Highway 101 at Mendocino Avenue exit 10-21-23 (CHP)
A high speed chase that ended in a crash in Santa Rosa miraculously ends without serious injury to anyone. For the past month or so, a Mustang driver has eluded police several times in a number of chases, always evading capture. On Saturday afternoon, the Mustang was located in Rohnert Park but fled CHP going north on Highway 101 from the Golf Course Drive onramp at speeds “well over 100 mph.” The chase ended when the Mustang sideswiped an SUV at the Mendocino Avenue on-ramp. The family of three in the SUV, including a small child, were taken to the hospital complaining of pain. The Mustang’s driver, 18-year-old Marcus Burton, was treated for minor injuries and then arrested. His 17-year-old male passenger was also treated for minor injuries and released to his parents.
