Protests in support of Palestine in Santa Rosa’s Old Courthouse Square are growing larger by the weekend. More than 140 people showed up in the rain on Sunday afternoon. They want a cease fire and are calling on Israel to end its military action in Gaza, which began after Hamas attacked Israeli civilians on October 7th. About 80 people showed up to the first demonstration in the same place on October 15th.
Others in the Bay Area also spoke out for peace in the Middle East. Yesterday, people in Oakland gathered in support of Palestinians and those in Gaza. Then in San Jose, a large crowd of people rallied and demanded those kidnapped by Hamas to be safety returned. Both groups say they’re pushing for peace and want the violence to end.
