Fire at Petaluma Business Causes $6-Million in Damages

A fly larvae feed business based in Petaluma is out an estimated six-million-dollars in inventory and equipment after a large fire. Two barns owned by the company Protein Products were destroyed by flames on Sunday morning. Crews reported several explosions during the hour-and-a-half firefight. They were likely caused by some of the equipment being stored in the barns. There are no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire and its point of origin are not clear.
