Thirty-six-percent of working households in Sonoma County are unable to afford basic household necessities. That’s according to a study from an institute affiliated with the Federal Reserve. Economists say those struggling to survive include teachers, firefighters and paramedics. The United Ways of California Real Cost Measure 2023 study also says 34-percent of the state’s households are unable to afford basic household necessities. That’s three-point-seven-million households.
