Dead Pedestrian North of Santa Rosa Identified as Someone from Humboldt County

A pedestrian killed in a collision north of Santa Rosa has been identified. The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said the victim was Ben Noe, a 45-year-old transient from the Redway community in Humboldt County. On the night of October 20th, Noe was pushing a shopping cart when he was hit by a car north of Donna Drive. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The 19-year-old driver stopped and cooperated with CHP. Investigators determined that the driver was likely driving the posted speed limit of 45 MPH, was not under the influence of any substances, and wasn’t distracted at the time. The crash occurred in a dark area and Noe was not wearing lights or reflective gear.
