Sonoma Sheriff K-9 Bruno Dies Two Months After Retirement

K-9 Bruno and Deputy Hector Campos (Sonoma Sheriff)

A recently retired K-9 deputy with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office has died. Bruno died of a medical emergency after being rushed to UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Despite their best efforts, they couldn’t revive him. He just retired on September 5th this year after eight years of service. Bruno first served with the Vallejo Police Department before he and partner, Deputy Hector Campos, came to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. Their entire careers together were spent in the property crimes unit, focusing on suspect apprehension and drug-related incidents. Campos and his family were with Bruno when he died.
