A Santa Rosa man has been sentenced to 14 years in state prison for sexually abusing a teenager. Leonel Padilla Gomez received his sentence last week after pleading to several charges related to sexual abuse of a child back in August. Gomez abused a teenage girl over a two year period of time having had access by being a trusted figure in her life and her mother’s. At the hearing, the victim’s mother’s impact statement was read in court, and indicated that no amount of prison could ever right the wrong that was done to her child. The 36-year-old Gomez will have to register as a sex offender following his release.
