Today, a Sonoma County Juvenile Court judge could decide the fate of a former Montgomery High School student accused of stabbing a fellow student to death in March. The defense says the 16-year-old boy, charged with voluntary manslaughter, was defending himself from an ambush by two other students in a classroom. One of those students, another 16-year-old boy, died later that day from a stab wound. The prosecution says the suspect didn’t have to resort to using the knife he allegedly brought on campus.
