A solo car crash caused a brief power outage in an area of Sonoma Valley last night. CHP says that the car was going southbound on Arnold Drive in El Verano when the driver fell asleep, drifted off the right shoulder just south of Petaluma Avenue, crashed into a culvert and struck a power pole’s guy wire. Power in the nearby area was out for about 40 minutes. The female driver suffered minor injuries and was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial. Two dogs in the car were taken to a vet before being kenneled. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be involved.
