Montgomery High School Stabbing Suspect Found Not Responsible for Involuntary Manslaughter

The former Montgomery High School student who stabbed another student in a classroom in March has been found not responsible for the boy’s death. On Monday afternoon, a Sonoma County Juvenile Court judge found the now 16-year-old Daniel Pulido not responsible for involuntary manslaughter, but did find him responsible for the charge of having a weapon on campus. He faces two to four years in custody for the weapons charge. The 16-year-old boy’s sentence will be decided by the same judge who issued Monday’s ruling.

Sonoma County District Attorney Carla Rodriguez is speaking out after the decision in the Montgomery High School stabbing case. On Monday, Rodriguez said she stands by her office’s choice to file charges. She also says she is confident her office presented all of the relevant facts and evidence to the judge, and respects the judge’s decision.
