The annual tourism report has been released by Sonoma County Economic Development Board. The 2023 report has three sections integrating findings on the local tourism industry. Visitor spending jumped 18-percent year over year in 2022, with pent-up demand for travel after the COVID-19 pandemic pushing spending totals higher than in 2019. Direct visitor spending in Sonoma County in 2022 totaled $2.3 billion, a 17.3-percent increase from 2021. And in 2022, Sonoma County welcomed 10.2 million visitors: 4.8 million overnight and 5.5 million day-visitors, with a total of $979 million, up over 15-percent from previous year.
