Two Arrests Made in Santa Rosa City Schools Over Knives; One Student Injured in Fight

A 16-year-old student from Santa Rosa High School is behind bars on suspicion of using a kitchen knife in an on-campus fight with another student. The other student, who is 14-years-old, is out of the hospital after suffering several cuts to the left side of his torso on Wednesday morning. Police say the older student left campus after the fight and was arrested at his home later in the day. Investigators believe the fight was gang-related.

There was also another arrest made at a different Santa Rosa school regarding a knife on campus. Wednesday morning, Montgomery High School Staff removed a 14-year-old male student from his class after a tip came in that he had a knife in his backpack. The student refused to be searched and walked away until he was detained by school staff. After police arrived, school staff searched the backpack and found a 9-inch folding knife with a 4-inch blade. The student was arrested for bringing a knife on campus.
