Dungeness Crab Season Delayed Until at Least December 21st

Another delay for this year’s Dungeness crab season. California regulators just pushed it out at least two weeks due to more humpback whales spotted off the coast. The move protects them from getting caught in fishing gear. Restrictions on recreational crab traps will be lifted a week from tomorrow along the Mendocino Coast north of Point Arena to the Oregon border. The next risk assessment is set for December 21st.
