A Cotati driver may be in trouble after dragging his dog behind his SUV. Last Wednesday night, two women driving just west of Sebastopol saw a dog walking alongside an SUV in distress. They noticed the dog was attached to the back of the vehicle by a leash and had possibly escaped the SUV. They followed the SUV seeing the dog struggling to keep up with the car until it fell and got dragged on the rain-slick road. The women pulled up alongside the SUV and got him to stop and put his dog into his vehicle but not before the driver directed a slur at them during a profane exchange. Police were able to track the driver to his residence who claimed he did not know the dog was behind the SUV. The dog was alright. The Sonoma County DA will decide whether to press charges against the driver.
