Sonoma County Buys Another Property Toward the Springs Plaza in Boyes Hot Springs

Sonoma County is buying another piece of property in Boyes Hot Springs to go towards a public plaza. Last week, the board of supervisors approved $708,000 from a capital projects budget to purchase 15 Boyes Boulevard, former home of Uncle Patty’s Bar and Grille. That property will join adjacent county property to form the footprint of the eventual Springs Plaza. The Plaza is part of the Springs Specific Plan which would provide a centrally located community plaza as part of a unified corridor for the unincorporated Springs area. Still, Supervisor Susan Gorin tells the Press Democrat that they don’t have anywhere near the amount of money needed to construct the plaza. She plans to seek further grant funds from the county’s Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District.
