New California laws in 2024 include fourteen written by Senator Bill Dodd. He calls them all commonsense measures and they are in response to some of the most critical issues in the state – like college campus safety and consumer protection. Senator Bill Dodd says the new laws include a CSU Harassments law that focuses on tracking, transparency, and reporting of cases and settlements. Another law increases pay caps for city council members to increase diversity and representation on city councils. And, a broadband bill will allow the state to lease properties to cell providers at a reduced rate to boost cell service, while a recycling law will change what can be recycled and make the whole process less confusing.
