California’s Secretary of State is responding to the Lieutenant Governor’s request to block Donald Trump from appearing on the state’s ballot. In a letter to Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis, Secretary of State Shirley Weber reaffirmed her commitment to assess the options and follow the rule of law. Weber ensured that any action taken regarding any candidate’s inclusion or omission from the ballot will abide by the laws of California and the Constitution. She also urged Kounalakis to reach out to her directly for any updates.
