Abnormally high and dangerous waves are expected to pound the Sonoma County coast today. A high surf warning went into effect at three a.m. and will stay in effect until at least three a.m. tomorrow. Forecasters are expecting breaking waves of 24 to 33-feet high. The National Weather Service is urging people who want to watch the waves to not do so from on top of rocks or jetties, or they may be swept out to sea.
The North Bay could be in for a round of wild weather tomorrow. The National Weather Service says there is a 15 to 20-percent chance of isolated thunderstorms Friday night into Saturday morning. A high wind advisory may also be issued, with 35 to 45-mile-per-hour winds expected tomorrow. Sonoma County could get one to three inches of rain, depending on the area, between Friday evening and Saturday morning.
