The Santa Rosa Plaza will lose two chain stores by the end of January. Champs Sports just announced that they will leave the downtown Santa Rosa mall. Foot Locker, who owns Champs, had announced in March of 2023 that it was going to close 400 low-performing stores by 2026 and 125 of its Champs Sports locations throughout 2023. Last month, Forever 21 announced that it was also leaving the Santa Rosa Plaza this month. Neither store has given a specific closing date. Despite both stores leaving, Danielle Nelson, general manager at Santa Rosa Plaza, tells the Press Democrat that leasing activity remains strong.
