Covid Cases Spike in Bay Area Thanks to New Variant and Holiday Travel and Events

As if the flu isn’t dangerous enough, the Bay Area is now dealing with a spike in COVID cases. In fact, wastewater data shows the most infections since the survey began in mid-2022. The numbers more than tripled in most cities last month, reaching highs at treatment plants in San Francisco, Palo Alto and Novato around Christmas day. The CDC blames holiday gatherings, travel and a new variant spreading.
